Does the United States have a good educational system compared to the rest of the world?

Overview

Schools in the U.S. tend to focus on sports, extracurriculars, and actual subjects like math and reading. This school system is present in almost every school in america, however the U.S. consistently lags behind other countries in core subjects. So what can be done to stop this, and why is this happening.

Sports and Clubs

Sports that are usually in public schools are basketball, soccer, baseball, football, ect. Plus not to mention clubs like DECA, FBLA, and HOSA. Students are more busy than ever with these extracurriculars that take up so much time and energy that there’s not much left for studying for quizzes or tests. This is just one reason but when you look at the average test scores in the U.S. and compare it to other developed countries the U.S. ranks at the bottom of the list almost all the time.

Video Games

Video games have taken over the United States. Children spend hours every day playing games everyday, and this takes even less time away from the already small time they have to study. This leads to less time to below average grades due to the lack of time to study. Which is how the United States of America falls behind other countries.

Outro

You can play multiple sports, be active in clubs, play video games with your friends, and have good grades. This is possible by controlling how much time you spend on each activity. Making schedules are following them are not required, but most teachers and administrators do encourage it. by controlling how much time you spend in each activity than you can be a good student, be active in clubs, play sports, and so much more.
